Whilst passengers are stranded all over the world and cargo logistics goes into meltdown, all due to a volcanic eruption on a small island near the Arctic Circle there is good news for photographers.

The volcanic ash aside from causing the airline industry headaches is also providing photographers in the UK with some stunning sunsets that seem to last forever.

I headed out tonight mainly to take some twilight shots of traffic on the M1. Although a did get a couple of shots of that, one of the best I came back with was the one above of the last vestiges of the sunset bleeding out of the sky with the moon rising above. There’s minimum processing on the image – this is pretty much how it came out of the camera.

    Wow, that’s beautiful colour range. It would look superb in large print on a wall.
